To promote the exchange and development of global television drama art, and encourage the presentation of diverse cultures and innovative expressions, the Center for Theatre, Film and Television Studies of the International Institute of Film Science and Art (IIFSA) will grandly host the Global TV Series Gala in Bangkok, Thailand in December 2025.

Following the international acclaim garnered by the IIFSA Astar Award in the film sector, this Gala represents a significant expansion and advancement of the International Institute of Film Science and Art (IIFSA) into the television drama domain. It aims to honor television drama works and practitioners who have made outstanding contributions in areas such as artistic creation, social value, cultural inheritance, and global communication.

The Gala will establish core awards including the Best TV Series Award, Best Director Award, Best Screenplay Award, and Best Actor/Actress Awards. Meanwhile, it will specially set up diverse awards such as Cultural Inheritance Award, Cross-boundary Innovation Award, Outstanding Newcomer Award, and Fashion Style Award, so as to highlight the rich dimensions of contemporary television dramas and the power of cross-boundary integration.

Hosted by the Center for Theatre, Film and Television Studies of the International Institute of Film Science and Art (IIFSA), this year’s Gala will invite participants from major global film and television institutions, as well as renowned screenwriters, directors, actors, scholars, and industry representatives to join hands and witness the brilliant moments of television drama art.
