Saniuddin Khan
Saniuddin Khan serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Design and Innovation at Jamia Millia Islamia, bringing with him extensive experience in art and design education as well as industry practice. A versatile and interdisciplinary artist with a broad range of interests, Sani's professional domains encompass visual communication, product design, animated film production, and photography, reflecting his firm commitment to fostering creativity and driving innovation in the field of design.
Sani holds a Master's degree in Visual Effects and Animation from the AJK Mass Communication Research Centre at Jamia Millia Islamia, as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Applied Art from the same university. His career includes key roles at renowned companies such as Ogilvy & Mather (engaged in print advertising), The Shop Advertising (serving as Assistant Art Director and Photographer), and Green Gold Animation Pvt Ltd (gaining experience in 2D animation, post-production, and digital pre-production).
A notable highlight of his career was serving as Art Director at the technology company Eccentric Engine, where he successfully integrated artistic design with technology to create innovative solutions. Additionally, Sani has held numerous important academic positions, including Assistant Professor at both Goenka University and Sharda University, contributing to the development of design education.
At Jamia Millia Islamia, Sani is involved in curriculum development and research, focusing on integrating industry practices with academic learning. He has authored book chapters and research papers on communication design and animation. His leadership extends to supervising design projects in branding, animation, and visual communication.
Professor Sani teaches a wide range of courses, including Design Morphology, Design Practice and Entrepreneurship, Communication Design, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Sketching, Foundations of Design, Animation Techniques, Visual Narrative, and Photography. His courses emphasize hands-on learning, encouraging students to solve creative problems, embrace an entrepreneurial spirit, and apply their design skills for social good.
Beyond his academic career, Sani remains active in the creative industry through collaborations, exhibitions, and design consulting, continuously pushing the boundaries of design education and practice.
