1. Background
With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, film and television production is entering a new paradigm driven by generative models, algorithmic systems, and human–AI collaboration. AI is not only transforming production workflows but also redefining narrative structures and audiovisual language.
To advance the global development of AI-driven screen production, the International Institute of Film Science and Arts (IIFSA) officially launches:
IIFSA Global AI Film & Television Production Competition
This competition aims to establish a global platform for AI cinema and television, fostering innovation, artistic exploration, and international collaboration.

3. Competition Categories
(1) AI Feature Film Category
Duration: 45–90 minutes
Eligible formats include (but are not limited to):
Narrative films, science fiction films, animated films, experimental films, and AI-generated or AI-assisted cinematic works.
(2) AI Television Series Category
Submissions must meet all of the following:
Episode duration: more than 10 minutes per episode
Total number of episodes: 6 to 45 episodes
Eligible formats include:
Drama series, sci-fi series, animated series, experimental episodic works, and AI-driven narrative formats.
4. Eligibility Requirements
Submissions must involve substantial use of artificial intelligence in the production process.
AI involvement may include (but is not limited to):
Script and narrative generation
Storyboarding and visual design
Character and environment generation
Voice synthesis and sound design
Music composition
Editing and post-production
All submissions must have clear and legitimate rights ownership.
Works must not infringe upon any third-party rights.
Content must comply with international standards of public dissemination.
Non-English works must include English subtitles.
5. Submission Methods
Submissions are accepted through the following channels:

6. Timeline
Call for Entries Opens: April 25, 2026
Submission Deadline: To be announced
Evaluation Period: Rolling review process
Official Selection Announcement: To be announced
Award Ceremony: Expected in January 2027
7. Evaluation Process
The competition will establish an international jury composed of:
Film directors and producers
AI scientists and researchers
Film scholars and critics
Technical experts in audiovisual production
Evaluation will be conducted in three stages:
Preliminary screening
Professional jury review
Final jury deliberation

Submissions will be assessed based on:
Narrative quality and originality
Directorial vision and cinematic language
Depth of AI integration
Artistic style and innovation
Technical execution and production quality
Emotional engagement and audience impact

This is a global open call
Interdisciplinary and experimental works are highly encouraged
IIFSA reserves the right of final interpretation of the competition rules
