Astria award nominations

Astria Best Mini‑Series — Moon Knight

JurJury citation (abridged): A six‑episode closed arc in the register of psychological thriller × mythic mystery, with season‑wide authorship divided across Mohamed Diab (four episodes) and Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead (two episodes), and principal cinematography shared by Gregory Middleton and Andrew Droz Palermo. The limited‑series form and finish are unequivocal.

Astria Best Direction (Series/Limited) — Mohamed Diab

Jury citation: A coherent tone anchored in a contemporary Egyptian sensibility. Diab balances location‑grounded realism and spiritual imagery, pursuing an expressly de‑stereotyped portrayal of Egypt across staging, space and rhythm—keeping character experience primary while honoring genre.

Astria Best Production Design — Stefania Cella and the Art Department

Jury citation: A tri‑part spatial grammar—mythic halls, psychiatric “mind‑hospital,” and present‑day city—built at shootable scale. The three‑story Ennead council chamber and pyramid‑coded attic are substantial practical builds, with cultural patterning and palette calibrated for legibility and lore.

Astria Best Costume Design in Television — Meghan Kasperlik and the Wardrobe Department

Jury citation: Dual hero looks reconcile function with myth. The bandage‑wrappage Moon Knight suit is a high‑mobility practical build assembled from hundreds of components with 3D‑textured detail; Mr. Knight’s three‑piece embeds Khonshu iconography in materials and fastenings. Scarlet Scarab’s wings are primarily practical with VFX carry‑through for deployment.

Astria Best Original Score — Hesham Nazih

Jury citation: A motif network that sets Middle‑Eastern vocal color against orchestral/electronic weave to stage the show’s myth × psyche dialectic. Themes support action and suspense while integrating Egyptian musical language into melody and voice—clear emotional wayfinding without overstatement.
