Membership Recruitment Notice of the IIFSA Asian Institute

To promote international academic research, innovative practice, and global collaboration in the field of film science and arts, and to further bring together outstanding film scholars, artists, educators, and technological innovators from around the world, the International Institute of Film Science and Arts Asian Institute (IIFSA-AI) is now officially launching its membership recruitment program. The program is open to professionals in the academic, artistic, and technological fields of film across Asia and the world.



Purpose of Membership

Through the establishment of an international academic and creative community, the IIFSA Asian Institute aims to:

• Promote interdisciplinary research in film science and the arts;

• Facilitate international cultural and academic exchange;

• Cultivate globally minded talents in film research and innovation;

• Build a high-level platform for collaboration, exhibition, and intellectual exchange.



Membership Categories

Honorary Member

Individuals with outstanding international influence in the fields of film, art, technology, or education, specially invited by the Academic Committee.


Full Member

Experts, professors, creators, or industry representatives who have made notable achievements in the fields of film, art, technology, or cultural research.


Associate or Young Member

Promising young scholars, doctoral students, or innovative film creators who are admitted through recommendation and academic review.


Institutional Member

Universities, research institutions, film festivals, or cultural organizations that maintain long-term cooperation with the Institute.



Membership Criteria

1. Academic and Professional Qualifications (any one of the following):

• Demonstrated research achievements in film studies, art, media studies, computer imaging, artificial intelligence, or related fields, such as published papers, books, creative works, or patented inventions;

• Experience of participation or awards in international film festivals, art exhibitions, or academic conferences;

• Holding a position as a university professor, researcher, or leader in film education or production institutions;

• Recognized social influence in the fields of film technology, artistic creation, or academic development.


2. Academic Integrity and Spirit of Cooperation

• Abide by academic ethics and respect intellectual property rights;

• Support and uphold the Institute’s mission and international cooperation philosophy;

• Be willing to participate in the Institute’s projects, conferences, peer reviews, or academic activities.


3. Recommendation and Review Mechanism

• Applications may be submitted individually or through recommendation by two existing members;

• All applications will be reviewed and approved by the Academic Committee;

• Honorary Members are jointly nominated by the President and the Academic Committee.



Membership Benefits

• Receive an official membership certificate and registration number;

• Obtain priority to participate in international academic conferences, art exhibitions, and research projects;

• Be eligible for recommendation in publications, peer reviews, and international award nominations organized by IIFSA and its Asian Institute;

• Be listed on the Institute’s official website and in its international cooperation directory;

• Participate in research project applications, academic publications, and international collaborative programs.



Application Procedure

1. Required Materials

• A personal resume (in Chinese and English);

• A list of main academic or artistic achievements, including representative papers, works, or exhibitions;

• A letter of application stating research interests and intentions for cooperation.


2. Submission Method

Please send the above materials to the Secretariat of the Institute via email: secretary@iifsa.org

• The email subject line should be: “Application for IIFSA Asian Institute Membership – [Name / Institution Name]”



Application Deadline and Review Schedule

The first round of membership applications will close on March 31, 2026.

The review results will be formally notified by email before mid-April 2026.



Supplementary Provisions

This notice is interpreted by the Secretariat of the IIFSA Asian Institute.

The Institute reserves the right to adjust membership categories and review standards based on actual circumstances.
