Notice on the Establishment of the IIFSA Asian Institute

To further promote international collaboration and academic innovation in film science and the arts, the International Institute of Film Science and Arts (IIFSA) hereby announces the official establishment of the IIFSA Asian Institute (IIFSA-AI).



Purpose and Mission


The IIFSA Asian Institute aims to serve as a hub for scholars, artists, and technologists from across the world, focusing on Asia as a center for innovation in film science, art, and technology. Guided by the principle of “Science Inspires Art, Art Enlightens Humanity,” the Institute is dedicated to fostering international academic dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration.



Main Objectives


• Conduct interdisciplinary research in film science and the arts;


•  Build academic and educational partnerships across Asia;


•  Promote frontier studies in AI, visual technology, and cinematic storytelling;


•  Cultivate new generations of film researchers and creative professionals;


•  Host international forums, screenings, and symposia to enhance cultural exchange.



Vision


With the vision of “Connecting Asia, Inspiring the World,” the IIFSA Asian Institute aspires to become:


• A think tank for global film science and art research;


• A regional center of excellence for film technology and art education;


• A bridge for international cooperation and cultural dialogue.


The Institute will establish collaborations with universities, film festivals, research centers, and cultural institutions worldwide to advance the sustainable development of film science and arts.



Establishment of Institutions 


The institute has established a secretariat, an academic committee and various research centers (including the Film Technology Research Center, the Art Education Research Center, the Asian Film and Television Culture Research Center, etc.). The first president, vice president and members of the academic advisory committee will be announced shortly.
