The Astar Awards ceremony this year, which covers more than 20 award categories and gathers representatives from the film industry of over 30 countries and regions, has witnessed the perfect integration of technology and art in the world of light and shadow.

On August 27, 2025, the International Institute of Film Science and Arts (IIFSA) held the first Astar Award ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand. This annual international award aims to promote the integrated development of global film art and technology, and recognize individuals and institutions that have made outstanding contributions in film creation, technological innovation, theoretical research, educational dissemination, and cultural exchanges.

"Astar" means "Star of Images". Among them, A stands for Art, S stands for Science, and "star" means a star. This is to pay tribute to filmmakers, researchers, and art educators who respond to the issues of the times through film language, push the boundaries of art with technology, and lead future narratives with humanistic care.

The Astar Award covers multiple categories and recognizes outstanding achievers in the integration of film art and technology. This award aims to promote film research, cultivate professionals, facilitate cultural exchanges, and preserve film heritage.
