Announcement on the Establishment of the Astar Award Council

In order to promote the integration of global film science and artistic innovation, and to further enhance the professionalism and international influence of the Astar Award, the International Institute of Film Science and Arts (IIFSA) hereby announces the official establishment of the Astar Award Council.

As the highest decision-making body of the Astar Award, the Astar Award Council is responsible for strategic planning, the development of evaluation standards, international cooperation, and the selection of jury members. The Council is composed of distinguished experts from across the fields of cinema, the arts, academia, science and technology, and the film industry. Its mission is to ensure the fairness, impartiality, and academic excellence of the award process while fostering cross-cultural and interdisciplinary collaboration between film and science.

The inaugural members of the Council have been appointed through an invitation system initiated by IIFSA. Future members will be selected through a combined mechanism of expert recommendations and institutional nominations. Each term will last three years, with a rotating chairmanship. A Secretariat will be established to handle daily operations and international communication.

Key Responsibilities of the Astar Award Council include:

1. Formulating the rules and regulations of the Astar Award;

2. Nominating and reviewing members of the international jury;

3. Defining the annual themes and academic focus of the award;

4. Facilitating international cooperation in film, science, and education;

5. Overseeing the fairness and credibility of the evaluation process;

6. Expanding the global academic and artistic reach of the Astar Award.

The establishment of the Astar Award Council marks a significant milestone in IIFSA's efforts to build a globally recognized, academically grounded film award system. Upholding the vision of "Art, Science, Future", the Astar Award will continue to unite creators, researchers, and thinkers from around the world to advance the convergence of cinema, culture, and innovation.
